What’s Open & Closed on Memorial Day 2021

FRAMINGHAM – Monday, May 31 is Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday honoring and mourning the military personnel, who had died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. 

Federal, state, and municipal offices, including the City of Framingham’s Memorial Building are closed on Monday. 

Ashland and Natick Town Halls are also closed.

There is no parade in Marlborough in 2021, but Mayor Arthur Vigeant will host a service outside City Hall near the Vietnam and Korean War memorials. There will be a speaking program starting at 11 a.m. The public is invited. Following the City Hall service, attendees can cross Main Street to visit the WWI and other veterans memorials outside the Walker Building.

For the second consecutive year, the City of Framingham will not hold a Memorial Day service.

Framingham Veterans and the Framingham Elks will hold its annual cemetery tour on Monday, May 31. For a full schedule, click here.

Volunteers are needed to place flags at Edgell Grove cemetery on Memorial Day starting at 10 a.m.

Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery and Amazon available, but no home delivery.

The Governor removed all COVID-19 restrictions on businesses as of Saturday, May 29.

Supermarkets: Open

Convenience stores: Open

Banks: Some open and some closed.

Stockmarket: Closed
