FRAMINGHAM, MA – July 3, 2025 – The Rotary Club of Framingham honored Daniel’s Table as Organization of the Year at its annual ceremony this week, selecting the nonprofit free food resource for its unique programming that builds food security among the most vulnerable in the community.

Framingham Rotary, known for its commitment to the Rotary International motto Service Above Self, launched its Organization of the Year award in 1996. Club leaders recognize organizations whose work is respected and noteworthy within the community, providing both recognition and increased awareness for needed services.

“We’re proud to select Daniel’s Table as this year’s recipient due to their unique approach to getting food to food-insecure people,” said Patti McCarthy, president of Framingham Rotary. “Daniels Table is unique in that they have always taken food to where their customers are, unlike other organizations that have their customers exclusively come to them.”

Daniel’s Table is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building food security through nutrition and education as the catalyst to empower individuals and families to reach their full potential. Daniel’s Table achieves this mission through continuous innovation of programming and outreach, service provision conducted with compassion and dignity, and education that is respectful of culture and diversity.

The organization’s Community Freezer Program provides immediate access to nutritious meals in its 33 freezers placed throughout Framingham, including in nearly all Framingham Public Schools, the Framingham Public Library, and the Framingham State University and Mass Bay Community College campuses. In June, Daniel’s Table marked the second summer launch of the Full Belly Bag program, providing bags of snacks and meal items to school-aged children who lose access to free school meals during the summer break.

“Framingham Rotary shares in our commitment to serving others in our community, which is what makes this Organization of the Year awards such an honor,” said Sandra Montesino, executive director of Daniel’s Table. “We remain committed to building food security for and with our neighbors.”

At the award ceremony this week, Framingham Rotary announced three additional award winners: Reyad Shah, the president and CEO of MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, won Distinguished Citizen of the Year; Sydney Goldstein, President of the Interact Club at Keefe Technical High School, won Distinguished Student Volunteer of the Year; and Sushil Bhatia, PhD, won the prestigious Rotarian of the Year honor.
