FRAMINGHAM – The new Starbucks on Route 9 West, next to Whole Foods is temporarily closed this morning, October 14.

It may re-open this afternoon, but may not open until Saturday, October 15, said an employee.

There is a sewer pipe problem outside the building.

Until the repair is made, the store will be closed.

The small plaza located at 571 Worcester Road feeds into one sewer line before entering the City system.

“Someone put fillable grout into the drains and blocked the whole sewer line for this plaza. As a result, DPW asked Starbucks to close because they can’t put anything down the drain and they complied with this,” said the City, this afternoon.

“The property management company has someone working on the lines now,” according to the City.

“The only other store affected by this is a PXG Boston, which is a golf store. DPW allowed them to stay open given (they use) very little water,”said the City.
