Mosquito Spraying in Framingham

Monday & Tuesday Evenings

FRAMINGHAM – The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be conducting truck-mounted aerosol spraying to reduce mosquito populations in targeted areas of Framingham. Spraying will take place between sunset and 11:30 p.m. on the following dates:

• Monday, June 30, 2025: Spraying is planned for neighborhoods in the vicinity of Eisenhower Road, Sloane Drive, Swanson Road, Anderson Road, Simpson Drive, Clara Road, Griffin Road, Overlook Drive, Cottage Street, and Birch Road.
• Tuesday, July 1, 2025: Spraying is scheduled for areas south of Waverly Street, including Fay Road, Bethany Road, Winthrop Street, Hollis Street, Irving Street, and Bates Road. Spraying will also occur near Hickory Hill Lane and Jodie Road.

Please note that these routes are only a general description and additional roads within these areas may also be sprayed. In the event of a postponement due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, spraying will be rescheduled for the following week.

The mosquito control product being used is Zenivex® E4 (EPA Reg. No. 2724-807), applied at a rate of 1 oz per acre. Zenivex E4 is a non-ester pyrethroid classified by the EPA as a reduced-risk pesticide. Due to its low toxicity and minimal application rate, it does not pose a significant risk to humans, pets, or the environment. However, as with all pesticides, it is recommended that residents minimize their exposure by staying indoors and closing windows while spraying is underway. If you see a spray truck approaching, please go indoors briefly to allow the spray to dissipate.

Beekeepers do not need to take special precautions, as all spraying occurs after sunset. Zenivex E4 biodegrades rapidly and does not accumulate in the environment.
