NATICK – Yvonne Ka Yuk (Chan) Mok, of Morgan Drive, Natick passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Yvonne was born on November 29, 1950 in Hong Kong to Suk Ying Chan (Lau) and Ying Cheung Chan.

As one of the eldest in a family with 11 children, Yvonne sacrificed her education as early as elementary school to care for her younger siblings. When she was old enough to take on a career, she worked as a seamstress, where she ultimately met her husband, Bill; they wed in 1975.

With limited knowledge of the English language, Yvonne, Bill, and their two daughters, Winnie and Amy, immigrated to the U.S. in 1986, following the rest of Yvonne’s siblings overseas.

Yvonne bravely and ambitiously strengthened her English vocabulary while working machinery at C&K, and transitioned to food service at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she retired in 2015.

As her extended family grew in their new homeland, Yvonne continued to be a trusted caretaker for her nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Yvonne was full-spirited, and took every opportunity she could to travel the world. She was often found playing mah-jong with her siblings, and never shied away from singing Chinese opera karaoke at family gatherings. Yvonne was an exceptional home cook, and is best known for her famous sticky rice.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Bill Mok, her loving daughters, Winnie Runyon and her husband, Brian Runyon, and their twin children, Camden and Ayla of Newton, and Amy Mok of Natick, as well as her siblings: Paul Chan, Camy Lau, Kitty Wu, Stella Chan-Flynn, Cliff Chan, Venus Trementozzi, Wilfred Chan, Janis Tsang, and Carman Chan. She is predeceased by her sister, Diana Lee.

Visiting hours are at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick Common, Natick, MA 01760 on Sunday, August 28 from 3 to 7 P.M.

A funeral service will be held at John Everett & Sons for family and close family friends only on Monday, August 29th from 10 to 11 A.M.
