SHREWSBURY – Framingham High student Abby Desmarais was crowded the 400 hurdles champion at the Division 1 track meet at Shrewsbury High yesterday, May 27.

The Framingham High sophomore won the race in 1:04.23 minutes.

“I have coached Abby since she joined track 1 year ago,” said assistant coach John Sullivan. “In that time she has compiled a record second to none in Massachusetts. She won 10 State Championships from 100m to 400 hurdles, 3 Bay state league titles and was the track athlete of the meet at State’s Freshman/Sophomore Meet.”

“Abby is a dedicated athlete who trains hard and has a competitive drive second to none,” said Coach Sullivan. “She is a JOY to coach. She is a very positive young woman. I have been doing this for 57 year and she joins the top group of athletes I have coach. Training partners count and she has a great one in her best friend Ella Terranova.”

She will advance to the Meet of Champions next week, said head coach Chris Collins.
