FRAMINGHAM – Archie Delgado passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, the 27 of January 2022 at the age of 73.  He was, as always, surrounded by his loving family in his Framingham home.

He was born June 28, 1948, in Loiza, Puerto Rico to Ramon and Cristina (Masa) Delgado Vasquez.

Archie was a retired construction worker of more than 20 years and, never one to sit still too long, found joy in helping the elderly with landscaping and snow removal during retirement. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War.

Archie developed a love for sports at a young age, becoming well known for his skills as a basketball player in high school and in his neighborhood. Naturally, his love of sports extended to him being an avid fan of all Boston sports teams. He always showed his Boston pride through his wardrobe, dressing head to toe in Bruins black and gold or Celtics green and white.

Rich in things that brought him joy, Archie loved birdwatching, fishing, music, and dancing. He was always the first one on the dance floor during family parties and spread his zest for life to everyone that had the pleasure of a dance with him.

Archie will be best remembered for the great and unconditional love he had for his children and family. Never one to miss a birthday celebration, a graduation ceremony, a high school football game, or a holiday dinner with his loved ones, Archie was a pillar of his family. He was supportive of all his children and their endeavors to his last day.

Archie was predeceased by his father Ramon, mother Cristina, brother Chester and sister Susanna Robar. He is survived by his children, daughters Kimberly Delgado, Gina Van Houten and husband Joshua, Janine Delgado and partner Josie, Nora McCarthy, and husband Patrick as well as his sons Jarell Delgado of Framingham, and Tony Delgado and fiancé Katie of Bellingham. He leaves behind four grandchildren; Erica V. and husband Danny, Rebecca, Courtney, and Mia, as well as great granddaughter, Annalyse.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a time of visitation to celebrate Archie’s life on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Norton funeral home; 53 BeechStreet in Framingham from 4 to 7 p.m.
