FRAMINGHAM – There will be no tip-off tonight for the Framingham High girls basketball team, as a handful of players on the varsity squad have tested positive for COVID.

Tonight’s season’s opener against Wayland High on the road has been postponed and the team’s games for at least the next week have been postponed due to a recent outbreak of cases at the high school.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, more than 2 dozen positive cases of COVID-19 have happened at the high school, of more than 2,500.

The Flyers wrestling team has also been impacted, with 2 or 3 players with a positive COVID case.

Practices and the season opener for that team have also been postponed.
