FRAMINGHAM – Thursday night, December 9 a lottery was held for the 5 charities that will benefit from Team Framingham in 2022.

There were applications from 16 charities. A blind lottery was held at Nevins Hall in the Memorial Building for the 5 charity spots.

Selected were:

  • Massachusetts Wonderfund, Inc.
  • Hoops and Homework
  • Framingham Force
  • Foundation for Metrowest, Inc. (Adult ESL)
  • Friends of the Callahan Center

The 22 runners selected from a different lottery last night will each pick one of the 5 organizations above to fundraiser for, while training to run the 2022 Boston Marathon.

There is a fundraising requirement for all runners selected to join the team with
funds going to five local charities who are also selected by lottery.

The minimum
fundraising requirement is $2,000 with a “stretch goal” of $4,000.

Of the 155 Team Framingham runners who have started the Boston Marathon,
154 runners have successfully crossed the finish line for a 99.4% success rate.

The Team fundraising is off the charts.

In the 8 years of the Team Framingham program our runners have raised more than $638,000 for dozens of worthy Framingham focused charities!
