WORCESTER – Clark University’s men’s soccer team scored two goals on visiting Framingham State in the first half as the Cougars secured a 3-0 victory over the Rams from Granger Field.

Clark is now 3-1 on the season.

Framingham State is still seeking its first victory of the season and is 0-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Sophomore Anyolo Makatani scored his first collegiate goal for the Cougars as he raced past FSU for a loose ball, and perfectly placed it. Makatani was assisted by first-year William Lopez, his first collegiate assist.
  • In the 40th minute, Clark widened their lead when senior Derek Jones scored his first goal of the season with a well-placed high corner shot. Ezekiel Pamer recorded his first assist of the season on the play.
  • In the 43rd minute, Framingham State nearly got on the board when Gabriel Padilla took an uncontested shot. Cougar goalie Andrew DiStefano made a superb save to keep the shutout intact.
  • Clark graduate student Patrick Clark scored his first goal of the year on a beautiful shot, assisted by Olivier Pierre and Alex Maiorano.
  • In the 82nd minute, DiStefano made another sharp save on a shot by FSU’s Shawnd Chambers.
