Rams & Blazers Battle To Double Overtime Tie

CHICOPEE – The Framingham State women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie after two overtime periods in non-league action Wednesday evening on the road at Elms College.

Elms College Blazers are now 2-1-1 on the season.

Framingham State is still seeking its first victory of the season and is 0-2-1.   


HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The host Blazers opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Morgan Foucault scored off a helper from Kayla Pasquel.
  • In the 59th minute Rams newcomer Kaitlyn Monroe scored an unassisted tally to knot the game at 1.
  • Both teams had some opportunities in extra time but the keepers on both sides held the game scoreless.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Freshman Jetta Oskirko made 13 saves in net for the Rams
  • Gianna Liquori made four saves in the draw for the Blazers.
  • Elms held the advantage in shots 22-to-10 and shots on net 14-to-5. The hosts also had nine corner kick opportunities to the Rams six. 

UP NEXT: The Rams return to the field on Saturday when they travel to Nichols for non-conference action starting at 11 a.m.,
