FRAMINGHAM – Scores of girls, some as young as 6 years old, participated in the first-ever G.I.L.R.S. Day at Massachusetts State Police headquarters today, March 27 in Framingham.

Sponsored by the State Police Association of Massachusetts, G.I.R.L.S. Day is an acronym for the themes Grit, Intelligence, Resilience, Leadership, and Strength.

The day not only celebrated the women of the Massachusetts State Police — all but one of the presenters were female — but showcased law enforcement as a future career for women.

SOURCE will have more photos and a report next week.
