FRAMINGHAM – A route 9 restaurant in Framingham is closed today, March 11 and Friday, March 12, after a COVID positive test.

Legal Sea Foods at 50-60 Worcester Road is closed today and tomorrow for a “deep cleaning” according to the message on its phone.

The popular seafood restaurant will re-open on Saturday, according to the answering machine message.

In Massachusetts, if an employee, customer, or vendor of restaurant tests positive or is presumed to be positive for COVID-19, the restaurant must immediately shut down for a deep cleaning and disinfecting in accordance with CDC guidelines before reopening.

By law, any establishment that has a positive COVID employee is required to notify the Framingham Board of Health.

The City of Framingham has not been publishing this information for the public. The news outlet has been publishing the information when available, and at times filing Freedom of Information Act and Massachusetts Public Records requests to get the information from the City.

This week is one year since the first COVID positive case in the City of Framingham.

The City said on Wednesday, it has surpassed 7,000 COVID positive cases in the last year, which is about one out of every 10 residents in the City of Framingham.
