FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Democratic Party hosted a program tonight, October 7, before the national vice president debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris.

There was a debate pre-program and phone bank, that include Framingham Mayor Spicer on the program, along with some other big names in the Democratic Party in Massachusetts.

Mayor Marty Walsh started off the program and phone bank at 6 p.m.

Then the official pre-program kicked off at 8 p.m. with Congresswoman Katherine Clark, Attorney General Maura Healey, Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer.

Mayor Spicer left the Framingham School Committee meeting early to participate in the program.

The School Committee and the Superintendent were discussing how the district made the decision to not go to a hybrid model until at least January 2021, instead of November, due to the City of Framingham being a high-risk coronavirus community for the 6th consecutive week.

The School Committee was also discussing its list of capital projects needed for the schools last night, that would need to be incorporated into the Mayor’s fiscal year 2022 budget.
