FRAMINGHAM – A forum on ballot question #3 on the Community Preservation Act will take place on Wednesday October 14 at 4:30 p.m. via ZOOM, announced Grace O’Donnell the City of Framingham’s Director of Elder Services.

The Framingham question is on the November 3 ballot.

Bill Lynch will represent the vote no group and Patrick Dunne will represent the vote yes group.

Passed as state law in 2000, the Act enables adopting communities to raise funds to create a local dedicated fund for open space preservation, preservation of historic resources, development of affordable housing, and the acquisition and development of outdoor recreational facilities.

The ballot question would allow a 1% surcharge on property owners. The maximum allowed under the Massachusetts act is 3%.
