Management of Bayberry Hill Estates Announces Resident Tests Positive For Coronavirus

FRAMINGHAM – A resident of the Bayberry Hill Estates has tested positive for the coronavirus, announced Jennifer Kayajanian, community manager for the Framingham apartment complex

An email was sent to residents of the Dinsmore Avenue complex last night, March 23.

“This individual is following the expert advice of their physician and local health officials for recovery and containment of the virus, wrote Kayajanian.

“In adherence to the HIPPA privacy rule, identities of all who inform us of illness will remain confidential. While we are unable to provide details related to this diagnosis, we would like to remind you that if you think you may have been exposed to coronavirus or are displaying symptoms, please contact your primary care physician or local healthcare provider,” said Bayberry Hill Estates management.

“At Bayberry Hill, we respect your right to know and strive to keep you informed of impacts to our community. We are sending this notice so you are aware and can help reduce the spread of infection. Please know that we are following local, state and national healthcare guidance and recommendations in order to help control the spread of the virus,” wrote management to residents.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best ways to reduce the risk of getting this or any viral infection include:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces
  • Stay at home away from others if you are sick
  • Cover mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
  • Do not go into public spaces if you have cold or flu-like symptoms (elevated temperature, fever, cough, shortness of breath).

You should consult your healthcare provider if:

  • You have symptoms of illness or have been in close contact with someone with symptoms of illness, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
  • Read the CDC’s full list of symptoms.
  • An individual in your home or other people with whom you’ve been in close contact are displaying flu-like symptoms (fever of at least 100.4, coughing, shortness of breath, or other respiratory issues) or has tested positive for COVID-19.

The estates are asking residents “out of an abundance of concern for your safety as well as our team members, when submitting a service request, a member of our team will ask you the following questions before entering your home:”

1. Have you or anyone in your apartment home tested positive for the coronavirus ?
2. Have you or anyone in your apartment home been exposed or near anyone that has the coronavirus or suspected of having the coronavirus?
3. Do you or anyone in your unit have a fever, cough and/or shortness of breath?

“If you answer yes to any of the questions, we will assess the situation and identify a solution to complete the required repairs. Please know non-emergency repairs may be postponed for 14 days if anyone in the home is ill. When we perform a service request, we will also do our part and affirm that our service team member also answers “no” to the above three questions,” wrote management.

To keep our community as clean as possible and comply with social distancing guidelines, our amenity spaces will remain closed until we have further direction from local public health authorities. Laundry rooms, package lockers, and mailrooms remain open as applicable, although we ask that you practice social distancing in these spaces,” said Kayajanian in a letter to residents.

Per the advice of local health departments and the CDC we have increased the frequency of common-area cleaning at our community, with emphasis on disinfecting doorknobs, elevator buttons, desks, and tables. These cleanings will continue as we all practice social distancing,” said Kayajanian.

“If you have been directed by a physician or a health agency to self-quarantine or are diagnosed with Covid-19, please notify our team by emailing,” asked management.

These are unprecedented times, and we understand and share your concern. The safety and health of our residents and team is our top priority,” concluded Kayajanian in her email to residents.
