COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Springs Police Department said two men, including a Framingham man, were arrested for sexually assaulting a child and luring a child via the Internet

On September 10, 2021, the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Communication Center
received a report of a sexual assault on a child. The reporting party indicated that two adult males had sexually assaulted their 15-year-old daughter.

The victim had met the males online on separate occasions, according to police.

During these contacts, the suspects arranged to meet with the victim at a park in Colorado
Springs, where the assaults occurred, said police in a statement released today, December 6.

These incidents occurred between August 2020 and January of 2021, said Colorado Spring Police.

Detectives with the department’s Crimes Against Children Unit conducted the investigation and following the execution of several search warrants, the suspects were identified Michael Garcia, 26, of Westminster, Colorado, and David Reid, 36, of Framingham.

Garcia voluntarily agreed to meet with detectives and was subsequently taken into custody on the charge of sexual assault on a child and Internet luring of a child on October 15.

In coordination with the Framingham Police Department, Reid was taken into custody in Massachusetts on an arrest warrant out of Colorado for sexual assault on a child as part of a pattern and Internet luring of a child on October 16, said Colorado Police in a statement today, December 6.

At the time of his arrest, Reid was a teacher at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden.
