Richard F. Knox, 90, a resident of Framingham died February 22, 2025 after a period of declining health. Born in Presque Isle, ME, he was the son of the late Joseph & Lillian (Watson) Knox, and the beloved husband for 43 years to the late Patricia W. (Kinsella) Knox.
Richard served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 12 years and was an executive with Western Union for 33 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Chesapeake Southside Lions club for 24 years, and was a past District Governor for Eastern Virginia. After his retirement Richard enjoyed volunteer work with the Lions Club International, and the American Red Cross while living in Chesapeake, VA for 20 years.
Richard is survived by his children, Ret. Police Chief Richard F. Knox jr. & his wife Marian Steen of St.Louis, MO, Dr. Anthony P. Knox & his wife Elizabeth of York, ME, Capt. (Lt. Col. Ret.) Randolph M. Knox & his wife MaryBeth of East Longmeadow, MA, Laurie A. Knox of Port Charlotte, FL, and his stepson Michael D. Woodbury of Natick, MA. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Jennifer, Melissa, Gabriella, Erika, William, Patrick, Mitchell, and several Great Grandchildren. His siblings Lulu Meese of Waynesboro, VA, Dr. Judy Corbin of Essexville, MI, Joseph Knox & his wife Kim of Venice, FL, his Sister-in-law Deborah Flanagan of Natick, MA, his Brothers-in-law David Kinsella of Billerica, MA, and Frederick Kinsella & his wife Peggy of Derry, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Richards life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral home, 11 Lincoln st. Framingham, MA on Sunday April 13th beginning at 12 noon. A time of reflection will begin at 1pm. Interment will be private.
