Richard Francis Morris, 67, of Ashland, formerly a longtime resident of Framingham, died Friday, May 19, 2023 in Weymouth surrounded by his loving family after a 2 year battle and hospitalization due to complications from back surgery.

Born in Cambridge in 1956, he was the son of the late James Joseph Morris, Jr. and Dolores Fogarty Tavano.

Raised in Marlborough, Richard was a graduate of Marlborough High School in 1974, and Bentley University in 1978. He went on to complete his MBA at Bentley in 1985 and was a proud Double Falcon. Most of his career was spent in various executive financial and operational roles, primarily in the consumer electronics industry. He owned his own tax business for 40+ years.

An avid sports fan, Richard loved to golf, travel, and spent many an hour coaching youth sports in Framingham (Little League, softball, hockey.) He did volunteer work in different capacities for St. Bridget Parish, Framingham, and enjoyed aviation (he could tell the type of “equipment” and airline that was being flown from the ground.) He never missed one of his daughters’ dance recitals, and loved to be a front-stage “Dance Dad” by running the audio soundtrack during performances (Bose products only-his favorite employer.) He would have danced alongside them if they had let him-he had considerable rhythm.

Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 43 years, Teresa (Mascioli) Morris of Ashland, his children, Anthony Morris & his wife Abby Kruchten Morris of Charlotte, NC, Taryn Reynolds and her husband Roderick Reynolds of Randolph, and Taylor Spolidoro & her husband Giancarlo Spolidoro of Huntington Beach, CA, his grandchildren (the center of his world), Camden Morris, Matteo and Matilde Spolidoro, and Angelo Reynolds, his mother in law, Matilde Mascioli, his “brother from another mother”, Phil McNulty of Rawley-his oldest and most loyal friend of over 50 years. His brothers and sisters in law, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and countless dear close friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Richard’s life by a funeral mass at St. Bridget Church in Framingham, MA on Monday, June 26th at 10am, followed by an open celebration of life at a venue to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Richard’s name to:
