FITCHBURG – The Framingham State University women’s lacrosse team opened league play Saturday evening and defeated Fitchburg State 18-5 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Elliot Field

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams took a commanding 7-0 lead after one quarter. The Rams received a pair of goals from Molly Lanier, Madison Skiff and Hannah Guerin.  
  • The Rams pushed the lead to 9-0 before the Falcons got on the board, but the Rams closed out the frame with goals from Julianna Guzi and Rachel Erickson to lead 11-1 at the half. 
  • Fitchburg State scored to start the third, but the Rams used three unanswered goals to push the lead to 14-2. The Falcons closed the gap to 11, but the Rams quickly pushed the lead back and secured the conference victory. 
  • Leah Green finished the game with four goals for the Rams, while Guerin finished with three. 
  • Lanier finished the game with two goals and a helper, while Regan Fein chipped in with a goal and three assists. 
  • Alexis Burleigh earned the victory in net for the Rams making eight saves. 

UP NEXT: The Rams are back in action Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Eastern Connecticut State at 4 p.m.
