FRAMINGHAM – Last night, January 17, the Framingham City Council unanimously approved Mayor Charlie Sisitsky’s choice for Citizen Participation Officer.

Mayor Sisitsky nominated Ashland resident Heather Gutierrez to the job created in the City Charter in early January.

Gutierrez, a former Framingham resident, will be leaving her state job at the Department of Revenue – Division of Local Services to work for the City of Framingham.

She also worked for the City of Marlborough in the City Solicitor’s Office.

While in the private sector, Gutierrez worked for a firm that specialized in multiple facets of Immigration Services and Family/Probate matters.

Gutierrez is bilingual in English & Spanish said Mayor Sisitsky last night to the City Council.

She is the third person the Mayor has nominated to the position since he took the oath of Office in January 2022.

The first person Keziah Franca, was multi-lingual and game from the Framingham Public Schools. She chose to return to the Framingham Public Schools, as the school schedule fit her family life.

The second person, was approved by the City Council, but opted not to take the position.

Chief Operating Office Mike Tusino said there were three finalist for the job but Guiterrez stood out among the trio.

The salary range for the job was posted between $73,532 to $82,810.

Guiterrez is expected to start on January 30.
