ASHLAND – Kyle Marcinkiewicz was sworn in as the newest lieutenant for the Ashland Fire Department in a ceremony on Monday morning, January 9, at Ashland Town Hall.
Ashland Town Manager Michael Herbert administered the oath of office.
Marcinkiewicz was part of a three-person promotion ceremony. The Ashland Fire Department promoted Lyn Moraghan as the community’s first-ever deputy fire chief. Matt Boland was promoted to the department only captain position, and Marcinkiewicz was promoted to lieutenant.
Marcinkiewicz joined the department in 2010 as a call firefighter. He became a full-time firefighter/paramedic in 2014.
He has a Bachelor’s in fire science and wis working on his Master’s degree.
He works at Mass Fire Academy in support services.
