ASHLAND – With a standing room only crowd at Town Hall, Lyn Moraghan was sworn-in as Ashland first-ever Deputy Fire Chief by Town Manager Michael Herbert.

Deputy Chief Moraghan had served as the department’s only fire captain before being promoted today, January 9, to the newly-created position.

She started her career as a call firefighter in 1994.

Deputy Chief Moraghan became a full-time firefighter & paramedic in 2000.

She was promoted to lieutenant in 2008.

She has served the department as the fire prevention officers and runs camp Bailout.

Moraghan is a past training officer for the department and is an instructor at the Massachusetts Fire Academy.

She has a Masters of Science in emergency services management.

She was pinned by her father. Both her parents attended the ceremony.
