FRAMINGHAM – Marcella O’Brien, 91, of Mashpee, formerly of Framingham, passed away surrounded by her family on November 28, 2022 after a long illness.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband James O’Brien with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Marcella was born August 16, 1931, in Framingham. She spent her childhood in Framingham, attending Framingham High school where she was a graduate of the class of 1949.

After graduating she was employed by New England Telephone where she worked for 30 years.

When she wasn’t working, she spent her time volunteering at Bethany Hall helping the sisters of St. Joseph, and the Framingham Senior Center assisting the needy with bookkeeping.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Deborah and Robert Forrest of Onset, MA; James J. and Celina O’Brien of Southport, NC; Legene and David O’Dell of West Barnstable, Ma; and Hilaurie and Michael Mauro of Mashpee, MA. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Marcy loved family, traveling, shopping, going out to eat, and “a good cup of coffee”. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1 from 9:30to 10:30 a.m. at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave., in Mashpee.

A funeral mass will follow at 11:00am at Christ the King Church, 3 Jobs Fishing Rd., in Mashpee.

Burial will be held privately at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, in Natick..
