1 The City Council last night unanimously approved the Mayor’s pick for the City of Framingham’s Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer.

The City Council also in a 10-0-1 vote approved the Mayor’s pick for Citizen Participation Officer.

Also last night, the Select Board in Stoughton opted to go with a former state representative for its next leader and not former Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer, who was one of four finalists. She was the only woman candidate.

2. Early in-person voting for the City’s election will take place at the Memorial Building today from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early voting ends on Friday, November 4 at 2 p.m. Election day is Tuesday, November 8. On Sunday, election workers said the 500th voter participated in early in-person voting in the City.

• There is no School Committee meeting tonight as a majority of the School Committee will be attending the MASC Conference on Cape Cod.
• Framingham Cultural Council at 7 p.m.

• Framingham High cheerleaders won grand prize at the Natick Invitational event over the weekend, and tonight they will compete in the Bay State Conference Championships at Newton North High School at 6 p.m.

• Fred the turtle is turning 21. Stop by the the Christa McAuliffe Library today between 10 a.m. and noon to make a birthday card for Fred.
• The Christa McAuliffe Library is screening the Pixar movie Coco today at 3:30 p.m.
