The final regular season game of the season is Sunday, October 30 at 4 p.m. at Bowditch Field. The seniors on the team will be recognized at that game.

Framingham has qualified for post-season play. The seedings for the tournament will come out next week.

Yesterday, Framingham got on the board late into the first half, when Summer Haarala busted through a pack of defenders and struck the ball hard and low to the near post, making it unreachable for the Wildcats goalie.

Flyers were up 1-0 at halftime.

In the opening 5 minutes of the second half, junior Brooke Zanella launched a high, long ball over Milton’s defense in the path of freshman Madison Steenburgh. She chested the ball right to her foot, tapped it forward and drove to goal as Milton’s goalie dove down to the turf in an attempt to capture the ball. Instead the ball bounced off her legs giving Haarala the chance to chip the ball over the goalie and high into the back of the net for her second goal of the game.

A quick 5 minutes later, Haarala crossed a low ball feet from the net where Steenburg swept in before the goalie could grab the ball, punching in the Flyers third goal of the game.

In the last 10 minutes of the game, the head coach mixed things up and put defenders in offensive positions. Senior Natalie Kirkpatrick chased down a long ball nearly colliding with Milton’s goalie. The ball skidded across to the opposite of the field, where senior defender Ali Jones chased it down and got off a well-laced shot directly into the open net for the fourth and final goal of the game

Freshman Maddie Tessitore played the entire game in net earning her first varsity shut out.
