FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State ice hockey team was predicted to finish to finish 7th in the 2022-23 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship as voted on by the coaches from around the conference.
The Rams return their top three point leaders from last season Ashton Collazo, Johnny Baker and Dylan Marty as well as senior goaltender Blake Carlson.
Collazo led the Rams in 2021-22 with 15 points, scoring three goals and helping on 12. Baker and Marty each had 14 points scoring six goals and registering eight assists a piece. Rams goalie Blake Carlson was second in the league in saves with 670 while collecting a .909 save percentage last season.

Plymouth State has been voted on by the coaches to win their sixth straight MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship after winning the regular season and tournament during the 2021-22 season. The Panthers earned five of the seven first place votes for 35 points.
Sitting in second place is Fitchburg State with 31 points and a first place vote. Landing in third with 25 points and the final first place vote is UMass Dartmouth. Worcester State comes in fourth with 19 points followed by Westfield State with 16 points in the fifth spot. action last season. Rounding out the 2022-23 preseason poll are Salem State and Framingham State in sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Rams open up their 2022-23 season at Loring Arena on Saturday, October 29, when they host Southern New Hampshire in MASCAC action slated for 7:40 p.m.
