FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High co-ed field hockey team battled to a scoreless tie against the Warriors of Brookline High Friday, October 7, at Phil Read Field.

This was the second meeting this season between the Flyers & the Warriors.

Flyers managed to find the back of the goal early in the first quarter through senior Sophia Scalzi, however the goal was disallowed by officials.

Framingham was solid in their defensive structure, and had numerous entries into Brookline’s circle on offense.

Flyers were tactful in gaining multiple turnovers through their press.

Despite a physical game, the teams were evenly matched, and the contest ended in a 0-0 tie.

Jess García was a force to be reckoned with in the front line of the forwards while Natalie Stevens remained composed in the defensive line with solid support from Captain Ryen Taylor, making crucial tackles when needed, ultimately allowing Brookline only 8 shots on goal for the day.

The Flyers players were commended on their graceful sportsmanship, said the coaches.
