FRAMINGHAM – A man accused of murdered his wife was held without bail by a judge at Framingham District Court on Tuesday, July 19.

Edvardo Gomes-Da Silva was arraigned on the charge of murder. The defendant was ordered held without bail, said the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.

The next date in this case is September 2, 2022.

Edvardo Gomes-Da Silva, 40 of Framingham was charged with fatally stabbing his wife, Neiriane Pereira-Da Silva, 30 of Framingham at their Taylor Street in Framingham on Sunday night, July 17, said the Framingham Police Chief & The District Attorney in a joint statement on Monday.

Framingham Police received a 9-1-1 call from a multi-family home on Taylor Street around 10:30 p.m.

The caller reported that they had observed blood on the stairway to the third floor of the building and were concerned someone might be in need of assistance inside that apartment.

Upon arrival police located the victim and the defendant suffering from apparent stab wounds. 

Neiriane Pereira-Da Silva was transported to MetroWest Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Edvardo Gomes Da Silva was transported to a Boston area hospital where he remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the defendant allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times before injuring himself with the knife.

An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Neiriane Pereira-Da Silva died as a result of multiple sharp force injuries.
