FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State junior outfielder Gwendolyn Carpenter (Ashley Falls, Massachusetts) has been honored as the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Softball Player of the Week for the week ending May 8.
Carpenter was named MASCAC Tournament MVP and MASCAC Player of the Week after leading the fourth seeded Rams to their fourth MASCAC Championship in five seasons.

On the week she batted .632 (12-19) with a double, triple, eight RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases, four walks and a .789 slugging percentage. She went 4-for-6 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the championship round wins over Bridgewater State, was 3-for-3 in the first-round win over Fitchburg State and 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBI, a walk and run scored in the semifinal win over Worcester State.
The 2022 Rams have a record of 23-17 and captured the MASCACs AQ into the NCAA Tournament with their wins on Sunday.
They will travel to Salisbury, Maryland to face #4 Salisbury in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 13.
