ASHLAND – There are now just two finalists to become the Director of Student Services for Ashland Public schools.

Today, March 1, Erin Miller “announced her decision to withdraw from the director of student services candidate search. Miller, currently the director of student services for the Natick Public Schools, has decided to stay with her district,” said Ashland Superintendent of Schools Jim Adams in an email to families this morning.

Miller is an Ashland resident.

The Ashland Public Schools announced 3 finalists and the community was invited to meet each of the three finalists this week – one on Monday, Miller tonight, and the third finalist on Wednesday.

The director of student services search continues tomorrow with meetings scheduled for Brittany Smeltekop, M. Ed., a licensed special education administrator for all levels. She is currently the team chairfor Ashland Public Schools. Previously, she served as an assistant principal for Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District, wrote Supt. Adams.

The community is invited to meet Smeltekop on Wednesday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m. via  Zoom. An online, anonymous feedback form is available to submit comments about the candidate finalists.

The deadline to complete the form is Friday, March 4
