FRAMINGHAM – The Worcester State men’s ice hockey team skated to a 5-1 victory over Framingham State in MASCAC action Thursday evening at Loring Arena.

THE BASICS:

Framingham State Rams drop to 2-16 overall and 1-12 in the Conference.

Lancers improve to 6-6-1 in the Conference and 9-10-1 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Lancers opened up scoring in the 14th minute when Ian Hoffmann skated around a defender and sent in from the faceoff circle that clanged off the post and into the net for the 1-0 lead.
  • The Lancers extended their lead early in the second when Mike Wilson backhanded in a cross from Max Tucker to beat Rams keeper Trevor Stenberg.
  • Less than a moment later Jack Kroll sniped in a shot just over the glove of Stenberg to push the Lancers advantage to 3-0. The two team would reach the second intermission with Lancers up 3-0 after killing off a five-minute major in the final minutes of the period.
