1 City Hall and the Framingham Public Library is closed today to observe New Year’s Day.

2. Saturday is the City of Framingham Inauguration.

Mayor-elect Charlie Sisitsky will be sworn in along with other elected officials on January 1 at noon. It will be a virtual event for the public.

The inauguration committee has decided to make the event only. The public can watch the event online and on the Government Channel.

Mayor Yvonne Spicer is expected to attend the inauguration, along with out-going Chief Operating Officer Thatcher Kezer III.

State Rep. Maria Robinson will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

3. City of Framingham MEETINGS:

  • The Framingham City Council will meet immediately following the inauguration ceremony on Saturday.

4. Due to the “Steiner rule” five individuals will need to submit their resignation letters from volunteer boards, committees, & councils before they can be sworn in Saturday by City Clerk Lisa Ferguson.

5. No Flyers in action today. The Framingham High boys basketball team lost to Franklin High last night in the 3rd Annual Holiday Hoopla.
