FRAMINGHAM – My dream in forming FramBARK was to make a dog park in Framingham a reality.  This is happening, in no small part, thanks to Mary Kate Feeney.

In 2019, the FramBARK board of directors made plans to wind down the organization after almost 6 years of research, pounding the pavement to organize the community, and partnering with city (then town) officials.

After this was reported in the Source (December 2019), Ms. Feeney made a post to the Framingham Community and Government Facebook page that, “This is an absolute no brainer for the city.”  Such simple and powerful words.  The positive outpouring of support and exasperated comments about not having the park were overwhelming.

She didn’t stop there.  She was the force that helped bring FramBARK back to the fight by pulling together our leadership along with several city councilors to develop a plan to make the park happen.

The legal expertise, facilitation and PR skills of this small and fierce group brought new energy and focus to the project.

Mary Kate has a passion for making the world and her community a better place.  She put the gas in our engines to keep pushing for this first safe, enclosed, dog park in our city.  We are all Framingham.  I’m looking forward to seeing what else she can do.
