FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham’s first ever Citizen Participation Officer Alaa Abusalah is resigning.

Her last day is Friday, October 22.

She told City employees she has taken a position as “Town of Leicester as Director of Development and Inspectional Services.”

“It has been my highest honor to serve as the City’s inaugural Citizen Participation Officer. My time in the Town and City of Framingham has been rewarding and I am particularly grateful to have met and worked with each of you. I admire your leadership, professionalism, and dedication that has helped me grow in both my professional and personal life. You have taught me so much,” wrote Abusalah to City employees.

Earlier this week, the DOW director announced he was resigning.

Since January 2020, the City has hired a new police chief, a new fire chief, a new DPW director Lukis, who has now announced he is leaving, a new library director, a new highway & sanitation director, a new water & wastewater sewer director, a new health director, a new chief assessor, and a new Veterans Services Director. The CFO left the Spicer administration in June and the Human Resources Director left this fall.
