Established by the City of Framingham Charter, the Traffic Commission has exclusive authority to adopt, amend, alter, and repeal rules and regulations, not in consistent with the general laws, relative to vehicular traffic in the municipality, and to the movement, stopping or standing of vehicles on, and their exclusion from, all or any streets, ways, highways, roads and parkways under the control of the municipality.

There are four residents on the Traffic Commission, all appointed by the Mayor. The other four members represent City departments, including, police, fire, DPW, and school department.

“I am a skilled data analyst, I could be of use helping to manage, organize, evaluate and present large data sets if necessary. I served 12 years in the Air Force Civil Engineering unit and have experience with civil engineering, construction, construction planning, budgeting construction and meeting deadlines,” wrote Hebert in his May 27 application.

“My wife and I have lived in Framingham for about five years now. We both grew up in different towns in Massachusetts and chose Framingham as the town we want to raise our family. We love the city and have enjoyed becoming a part of the community. I have been wanting to get more involved in the community for quite some time and recently, while filing a motion to have a crosswalk installed near our home on Maynard Road, I was able to attend a few of the Traffic Commission monthly meetings. This really stuck out to me as a place that I could start getting involved,” wrote Hebert to the Mayor.
