FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Police Department will hold a community presentation on its use of force on Tuesday, June 29 at 7 p.m.
The presentation will include an overview of the joint order signed by Mayor Yvonne Spicer and then Chief of Police Steven Trask on June 16, 2020 that reviewed and adopted common sense reforms to the Framingham Police Department’s Use of Force policies. The presentation also will address what the Framingham Police Department defines and categorizes as force used.
Commumity members will see statistics between the Framingham Police Department’s total Use of Force cases and the total calls for service, the racial breakdown of Use of Force Cases, and which types of calls statistically result in Use of Force.

Deputy Chief Riley will explain why Use of Force data is so important to the police and the public.
“Our goal with this presentation is to help educate the public on the use of force the Framingham Police uses, why we use force, and how de-escalation is a part of everything we do,” said Deputy Chief Riley.
