UPDATED: Walmart, Stop & Shop, & Whole Foods Among 19 Establishments with COVID Positive Employees in April

FRAMINGHAM – Nineteen businesses and establishments, including one church, reported a COVID positive employee during the month of April.

Two stores and one childcare facility reported four cases and two stores reported three positive employees last month.

By law, any establishment that has a positive COVID employee is required to notify the Framingham Health Department.

Since the City of Framingham has not been publishing this information for the public to view, and establishments have not always been transparent, either, the news outlet asked for the list.

On April 28, SOURCE filed a Massachusetts Public Records request (FOIA) for a list of all businesses in the City of Framingham that had a COVID positive employee.

The City responded with the list today, May 12.

Walmart on Route 9 reported 4 positive employees in April. cases were reported On April 1, 3, 14 and 26.

Whole Foods also reported 4 positive employee cases – three on April 2 and and one more on April 5

Stop & Shop on Old Conn Path reported three cases – April 9, 16, and 26.

Urbano’s Furniture reported three positive employees on April 7.

Target reported 2 positive employees on April 13.

Staples HQ reported two positive employees – one each on April 1 and 8.

UPDATED: Kiddie Academy at 1292 Worcester Road reported 2 positive employees on April 12.

Editor’s Note: A previous report posted the Academy had reported 4 positive employees, based on a spreadsheet provided by the City of Framingham’s Health Department. That data appears to have been inaccurate. Source has updated the reported to reflect just 2 cases.

Throughout the pandemic, the City of Framingham has been conducting contact tracing efforts on positive cases, but the City has never released that information. It is unknown how many additional cases,if any, can be tied to any of these positive employees.
