FRAMINGHAM – Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a MutualOne Charitable Foundation trustee has announced a $3,000 grant to Framingham’s Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer to support their Helping Hands program.
The Helping Hands program provides selected patients undergoing active chemotherapy treatments with fully prepared, flash frozen meals for their use, according to Executive Director Susan Paterson.
“Among the many challenges faced by ovarian cancer patients is maintaining a healthy, well-balanced diet,” said Sousa. “The Helping Hands program fills that role, and we are very happy to assist.”
The $3,000 grant to Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer was among awards totaling $63,960 in the MutualOne Charitable Foundation’s most recent round of funding.
Established in 1998 as the philanthropic arm of MutualOne Bank, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation has since donated over $4.8 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enrich the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
