NATICK – Edward S. Mitchell, 86, died April 19, 2020 at The Eliot Center in Natick, MA from COVID-19 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucy Dezotell Mitchell; his 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Kelly Mackey; his 3 great grandchildren, Joseph and Lexi Mackey and Mark Ferro; his brother Jim Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents George and Laurena Mitchell and his daughter Karen (Mitchell) Mackey.

A longtime Framingham resident, Ed served more than 20 years in the Army and Army Reserve as a Sergeant 1st class.

Ed also became a recruiter for the Army and was named Best Recruiter in the Boston Battalion. Ed was a true and loyal Patriot.

Ed will be missed for his wry sense of humor and wit, his avid collecting of “stuff” and most of all for his loving devotion to his bride Lucy.

Family and friends will honor, remember and celebrate Ed’s life at a later date.
