NATICK –The Town of Natick is reporting 13 new positive COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

That is a 6.13% increase in cases.

As of April 22, the Town of Natick was reporting 225 coronavirus cases since March 1.

There are currently 133 active COVID-19 cases.

Neighboring Framingham reported 61 news cases today and has the highest cases in MetroWest at 435 cases.

The surge is not over in Massachusetts.

After two days of reporting positive cases in the 1,500s, today, April 22, the number jumped to 1,745.

The state also reported 221 new deaths, the most in a single day since the pandemic began.

Massachusetts is “still very much in the grip of the pandemic,” said Gov. Baker yesterday.

There is no cure and no vaccine, reminded the Governor, speaking at a press conference.

Massachusets Governor Charlie Baker had said the surge in COVID-19 cases was expected between April 10 and April 20.

Washington DC has said Boston is on the nation’s hot spots for COVID-19.

Massachusetts is third behind New York and New Jersey for positive coronavirus cases in the United States.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 42,944 positive cases since the pandemic began, as of April 22.

Really important for people to understand what is at stake, said Gov. Baker.

“Doing it wrong could create more hardship in the long run,” said the Governor.

“We are in this together Massachusetts,” said Gov. Baker. “We will come out of this stronger.”

As of today at 4 p.m., the state has tested 180,462 individuals.

The Commonwealth announced 221 new deaths from COVID-19 today, April 22.

That brings the total since the pandemic began to 2,182 deaths.

There have been at least 17 deaths reported in the community as Mary Ann Morse Healthcare as reported 17 residents have died from COVID19.

The facility also has 75 positive residents and 36 positive staffers.

Governor Baker said the number of hospitalization in the Commonwealth is still increasing. he called it a “modest increase, but an increase.”

The Governor said about 9% of all positive COVID-19 positive test results is requiring hospitalization.

Middlesex County has the most coronavirus positive cases at 10,094. In comparison, Bristol County only has 1,908 cases.

The United States now has the post confirmed cases worldwide at 838,836, as April 22 at 3:30 p.m.

Worldwide, there are more than 2.62 million confirmed cases.
