FRAMINGHAM – Leonard I. Lovitz, Lenny to those who knew him, 86 of Framingham, passed away on April 18, 2020.

Lenny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Roberta Dreyfus Lovitz. The love they had for one another was unmatched. Lenny will always be remembered for simply saying whatever “Roberta or mom
wants”.

Lenny was born on October 12, 1933 the son of immigrant parents Samuel and Bessie Lovitz and stepfather Nathan Beltzer.

He grew up in the Dorchester and Roxbury communities of Boston.

Lenny was a graduate of Boston Latin School and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He cherished being a pharmacist and worked diligently at his profession for 55 years.

From 1956-1958, Lenny served his country as a pharmacist in the United States Army stationed in El Paso, TX. He was proud to have served his country and be remembered as a Veteran.

Lenny and his family were congregants at Temple Beth Shalom in Framingham for 54 years.

Lenny was a lifelong Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan. He also very much enjoyed playing golf, taking pictures and video, traveling with Roberta to places such as Aruba, St. Maarten, Israel, Hawaii and the National Parks
just to name a few. When Lenny was not hard at work you could find him on the couch with a diet soda in hand watching any one of his favorites shows: M.A.S.H, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder, Charlie Chan, or any
old black and white movies.

Together Lenny and Roberta raised four children that he was extremely proud of and loved very much. Marsha Stewart (daughter) of Ludlow MA, Susan (daughter) and Howard Goldman of Billerica MA, Peter (son) and
Heidi Lovitz of Westford MA, and Joanne (daughter) and Barry Franklin of Germantown, TN.

Lenny is also survived by friends that were family: Leslie Zonghetti of Framingham, Joan and Mel (deceased) Niemi of Maynard, Erin and Frank Jamerson of Goodyear AZ. He was lovingly referred to as Papa by eight grandchildren: Michael (grandson) and Lauren Goldman, Amanda (granddaughter) and Grace Neild, Robyn Goldman (granddaughter) and fiancé Matt Hatley, Melissa Lovitz, Randall Stewart, Avery Franklin (granddaughter) and fiancé Taylor Seaman, Samuel Lovitz, and Jordan Franklin.

Lenny was one of five children to his parents and had 2 step-brothers and one brother in law on his wife’s side. late Albert and Bea Lovitz, late George and Molly Lovitz, late Bernard and Gloria Lovitz, Judy (deceased) and
Martin Schulz, late Laurence and Rosalind Beltzer. late Gerald and Lois Beltzer. Bruce (brother-in law) and Pat Dreyfus.

Lenny will be always remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces andnephews, and family friends as a kind, witty, smart, good hearted, loving man.

Private graveside funeral at Sharon Memorial Park Wednesday April 22, 2020 at 3 p.m.
