FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters extinguished a small brush fire behind Hemenway Elementary School today, April 7.

A member of the public walking by reporting the brush fire to the Nobscot station after 4 p.m., said Acting Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.

Engine 7 responded to the 100 foot by 100 foot brush fire, said Chief Dutcher.

The City’s small brush fire truck was also brought in to fight the fire.

Two Massachusetts State Fire Control Warden also assisted in extinguishing the fire. The wardens are dispatched from the Sudbury Fire tower, said the chief.

About 750 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire, said the chief.

Firefighters were on scene for about 45 minutes, said the chief.

No one was injured, said the chief.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, said chief Dutcher.
