Fuller Middle School Had Shelter In Place For An Hour on Monday

FRAMINGHAM – Fuller Middle School had a shelter-in-place for an hour this morning, December 13.

Last week, Walsh Middle School had a shelter in place.

The grade 6-7-8 middle school administration “implemented a shelter in place for 60 minutes to support a student who was escalated due to a verbal confrontation with other students that occurred as a result of an out of school conflict,” wrote Fuller Principal Kerry Wood to families around noon.

“During the shelter in place, students remained in their classrooms and hallway movement was not allowed. Once the student was deescalated, an investigation was conducted, and it was confirmed that there was no threat of danger to our staff or students, and classes resumed as normal. The Framingham Police Department was present to assist the school based staff in the investigation,” wrote Principal Wood.

“Consequences will be given based on the FPS Code of Character, Conduct, and Support. We would like to commend the students who spoke up. We encourage our students to say something if they see (or hear) things that may be concerning,” wrote the principal in communication to Fuller families. “We take all matters of school safety seriously and appreciate your support as we work to ensure the wellbeing of all of our students and staff.”
