Hugs For Lizbeth Event To Raise Money for Framingham Disabled Veteran Who Needs Handicap-Accessible Van

FRAMINGHAM – Lizbeth Clinton Granfield, joined the U.S. Army after she attended Boston College. A mother of two, the veteran has a master’s in teaching.

In 2008, she was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease, a neurological degenerative disease.

The former Framingham teacher and disabled veteran is now in need of a handicap-accessible van, and on Sunday, October 3, a fundraiser will be held for her at Nobscot’s Cafe from 3 to 7 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Hugs for Lizbeth with the HighwayTo20K campaign.

The Hugs for Lizbeth organization is a resource that helps offset costs associated with the care and facilities needed for Granfield.

The HighwaysTo20K campaign specifically targets fundraising towards purchasing a much-needed handicapp-equippped van so that caregivers can transport Grandfield for essential medical support.

The Hugs For Lizbeth team, assisted by Blues for Veterans and American Legion Post 440 is halfway to its $20,000 goal. The target date is Thanksgiving 2021.

Sunday’s event is a fundraisers to get the organization closer to that $20,000 goal.

Headliners for the show will be blues songwriter and recording artists Alan Arena & his band. The Cindy Lou band and other performers will also be at the 847 Edgell Road establishment on Sunday.

Suggested donation is $20. You can attend the fundraiser and still be home for kickoff of the Patriots-Tampa Bay game at 8;20 p.m. or stay at Nobscot and watch the NFL matchup.
