FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Police are investigating thefts at 2 businesses in the Corburnville-Tripoli neighborhood that happed early Saturday morning.

Around 5 a.m. today, March 20, a man and a female threw rocks through the windows of two business located within walking distance to each other on Route 135, explained Framingham Deputy Police Chief Sean Riley.

Around 5 a.m., rocks were thrown through the door at W&S Cleaners

At 5:10 a.m., rocks were thrown through the glass door of Bacon’s Wine & Spirits, said Deputy Chief Riley.

Bacon’s is located at 624 Waverly Street and the cleaners at 694 Waverly Street.

“The two were hitting stores and taking cash,” said the deputy police chief.

“Same MO, rock thrown through glass and entry made,” said Framingham Sgt. Rachel Mickens. “Cash register targeted in both breaks.” 

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from both stores.

“Surveillance video caught the man and the woman at one place,” and the man at the other location, explained the deputy police chief.

“Video surveillance shows a male throw rock through glass door in both breaks.  He enters store at 694 Waverley,” said Sgt. Mickens. “A female is seen with him at 624 Waverley and she makes entry after he breaks glass.”

The man is described as “white male, black hoodie, light color jacket, and gray sweatpants,” said the Sgt. Mickens.

The woman is described as “wearing oversized gray sweatshirt with logo on the back and black pants,” said the Framingham Police spokesperson.

The deputy chief said police are trying to identify the man and the woman based on the surveillance video.

The owners of W&S Cleaners are Korean-Americans.

Deputy Chief Riley said there is “no indication” this was a hate crime.

Deputy Chief Riley said with the police department is aware of threats towards the Asian community, heightened this week with the shooting and killing of eight individuals in Atlanta, George, including six Asian women, and the department is monitoring the situation the City closely.
