NATICK – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Natick Chief of Police James Hicks, in a press release, have confirmed that a 17-year-old male has been charged with leaving the scene of personal injury, leaving the scene of property damage, two counts of operating under the influence of drugs causing serious bodily injury, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop in connection with the serious crash that injured two pedestrians on August 18, 2020.
An immediate threat was also filed with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, said authorities.
The investigation into this incident suggests that the juvenile was allegedly operating a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on Washington Avenue when he struck two pedestrians on the sidewalk and fled the scene, said the press release.
Police subsequently located the suspect vehicle at a Holliston residence on August 18 and later determined that the juvenile was allegedly the operator of the vehicle with two other juvenile occupants at the time of the crash, said the press release.
The subsequent investigation further revealed that the juvenile was allegedly under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash, said the press release.

The juvenile in this case will be arraigned on September 10, 2020.
Juvenile proceedings are closed to the public (and the media).
The family of the victims has asked for privacy at this time. The 51-year-old female who was injured in the crash remains hospitalized at this time.
This investigation is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Natick Police and the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
Officers from Sherborn and Holliston Police Departments as well as numerous members of the public that came forward, also assisted in the investigation.
