Russell Johnson, 78, a lifelong resident of Framingham, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents Clayton and Alice (Green) Johnson of Framingham and eight of his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife Gemma (Luciani) Johnson of Framingham, his children Chris and his wife Allison Johnson of Framingham, Carrie Garron and her husband TJ of Hopkinton, his grandchildren Tyler Johnson of Denver Colorado, Jessica and her wife Brittany Decson of Worcester, and Jake and Nick Garron of Hopkinton, his brother, Norman Johnson of Ashland, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.
For over 30 years, Russell worked for the Framingham Public Schools maintenance department. During his career, he served as the President of the Local #1164 and was a member of the Framingham Lodge of Elks and The Columbus Club. Russell enjoyed hanging out by the pool and in his pool shed, and working on the house, his cars, and motorcycles. More than anything Russell enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. When not by the pool, he was always found in a hockey rink, a basketball court, or a rugby, soccer, or lacrosse field; he rarely missed a game.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Russell’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. Framingham on Tuesday morning, June 24th from 9-10:30AM. His Funeral Mass will follow in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St. Framingham at 11 o’clock. Interment in St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.
