Sister Jeanne Carol Leahy, CSJ, (Sister Marie James) in the 70th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Wednesday, June 11, 2025.  Devoted daughter of the late James J. and Mary C. (Scully) Leahy, and loving sister of the late Eleanor Rose, Louise Leahy, Marie Leahy, James Leahy, Frances Leahy, Barbara Leahy, her late brother-in-law, Kenneth Rose, and her niece, Denise Rose.  Sister Jeanne is survived by her cherished niece, Cynthia (Rose) Gaertner and husband, Todd, along with her grandnieces and their families, and her Sisters in the Congregation.  Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Joseph School, Medford; Gate of Heaven School, South Boston; Immaculate Conception School, Winchester; Walnut Park Montessori, Newton; and Merrimack Montessori, Haverhill.  Sister Jeanne also served as Parish Minister at Immaculate Conception, Winchester; Assistant Activity Director, Glen Ridge Nursing Home, Malden; program planner and cook at St. Joseph Retreat Center, Cohasset; and ministered to the Homebound at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Hull.

Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, Monday, June 16, 2025, 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.  Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, 180 Pond Street, Natick, MA.  Arrangements by Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, Framingham.
