Wayland’s Brea Chislett, owner of Wonderstruck Studio, has always loved pets. So when the
opportunity to help Jr’s Paws for a Cause presented itself, she jumped on it.
“I love using photography to give back to my community. This year, a group of photographers
and I got together and decided to host a fun competition! We’ll crown one pup Metrowest’s
Ulti-Mutt Cutie as a way raise money for Jr’s Paws for a Cause. We’ll also take a minute to
appreciate our lovable companions with portrait sessions designed just for them,” Chislett said.
Portrait sessions are already underway for the bracket style competition to be unleashed in
March. Sixteen pooches are competing for exciting prizes from Pet World, We Dig Your Dog,
The Doughy Dog Bakery, and Mr. Nice Dog Grooming Salon. Each week, dogs will face off in
online voting brackets, the winner advancing to the next round until we have found the Ulti
mutt Cutie of Metrowest. The winner will have the chance to move on to a national competition!
Chislett will photograph 16 pooches for a $99 donation to Jr’s Paws for a Cause. Participants
will receive a goodie bag of treats, and a cute keepsake keychain with the doggie’s picture on it.
“It’s funny. Our pets are such important members of our families yet most of us don’t think to
have a professional portrait taken of them. The Pooch Playoffs gives everyone a fun way to get a
portrait of their pet made by a professional, all while supporting Jr’s Paws for a Cause,” said
Chislett.
Jr’s Paws for a Cause is an amazing charity that supports doggie cancer research, as well as
veterinary care for pets in the Dominican Republic. They are currently preparing for their
annual 5K fundraising event.
Since she started her photography business in 2016, Chislett has raised thousands of dollars for
community causes. This year she is especially excited to be working with and for pets, because
let’s face it – they bring us so much joy!
